Montreal Game Summit: “Riding the Waves of Change” Panel + Keynote

Update: Due to the last minute cancellation of Heather Chaplin’s trip to Montreal (due to illness), Jason Della Rocca stepped in as a last-minute replacement keynote. He discussed the need to fail to reach success and how new business models are shifting the business risk of innovation.

Jason Della Rocca will serve as a panelist at the 2009 edition of the Montreal International Game Summit. The panel session, titled “Riding the Waves of Change: How Video Game Companies Can Flourish in an Environment of Relentless Volatility and Flux”, will be moderated by the executive director of the Masters of Digital Media Program at Great Northern Way Campus, Gerri Sinclair.

The Game Industry is in constant flux and flow: to be successful in this industry one must learn to contend not just with a changing market, but technology, educational demographics, workers’ skill-sets, but even changes within companies through mergers, acquisitions, and all-out take-overs.

Other panelists are: Clint Hocking (Creative Director, Ubisoft Montreal), Ken Schachter (Founder/President, trapdoor), Brenda Bailey (COO / Managing Partner, Deep Fried Entertainment).
